The hardest Christmas 2026 gifts to find, and how to get them in time
The gifts most likely to sell out this Christmas, from consoles and trading cards to advent calendars and viral toys, plus a plan for getting them before December.
Every year, a handful of gifts sell out between November and Christmas. Some are big-ticket items with limited supply; others are inexpensive toys that go viral. The best way to avoid a late-December scramble is to start tracking early, at more than one shop.
Consoles and tech
Consoles are top of many lists, and supply often tightens in December:
- Nintendo Switch 2 and its special editions, such as the Zelda 40th Anniversary edition.
- PlayStation 5 Pro and bundles.
- Handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED and ROG Ally X.
- VR headsets such as Meta Quest 3.
Collectibles and trading cards
- Pok茅mon TCG Elite Trainer Boxes and booster bundles.
- Pop Mart Labubu figures, which have sold out repeatedly.
- One Piece TCG and Lorcana boxes.
Advent calendars
Advent calendars only sell for a few weeks, and the popular ones often go before December:
- NeeDoh Squishmas Advent Calendar
- Squishmallows Advent Calendar
- Bluey Advent Calendar
- LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026
Toys and gadgets
- Tamagotchi Paradise
- NeeDoh Nice Cube
- Kitchen gadgets like the Ninja Slushi and Ninja Creami
- The Stanley Quencher in popular colours
A plan that works
- Make your list now. Write down every gift that might be hard to find.
- Find two or three shops for each. Include smaller shops; they often have stock when the big names do not.
- Paste each link into Every Hot Launch. Choose back in stock, price drops or both. Each is a one-off 拢5, shown in your local currency. One-off fee. No subscription.
- Turn on Telegram or push. Pre-Christmas restocks go fast. See our Telegram guide.
- Check delivery cut-off dates. A restock on 23 December is only useful if the shop can deliver in time, or you can collect.
Watch for price drops too
Some of the most-wanted gifts are reliably in stock but expensive: headphones, hair tools like the Dyson Airwrap and big LEGO sets. Set a price-drop alert with a target, and we will tell you if the price falls during the sales.
Avoid gift-season scams
When toys sell out, fake shops appear. Be suspicious of unknown sites selling sold-out items at retail price, especially if they only take bank transfers. Our scalper guide covers the warning signs.
Step by step: a gift-tracking plan for November and December
- Write your list early. Note each gift, with the exact version, size or colour.
- Ask about backups. If a gift sells out, what would the recipient like instead?
- Pick shops for each gift. A mix of large retailers, specialists and independents works best.
- Paste each product link into Every Hot Launch.
- Choose your alert type. Sold-out gifts need back-in-stock alerts. Expensive gifts that are in stock suit price-drop alerts with a target.
- Connect Telegram or push from your manage page.
- Note each shop's delivery cut-off date. Put them in your calendar.
- Buy as soon as a matching alert arrives, then turn off the other alerts for that gift from your manage page.
Where to look
- Official brand stores, for exclusives and wide ranges.
- Large toy and electronics retailers, which receive the biggest deliveries.
- Supermarkets, which often stock toys, advent calendars and gadgets in the season.
- Independent shops, which can still have stock when big shops are empty.
- Department stores, for gift sets and premium items.
- Shops in other countries: you can paste links from any store worldwide, but international delivery takes longer, so allow extra time.
What to watch for
- Delivery cut-offs. A late restock is only useful if it arrives in time.
- Click and collect. Collecting from a store can be quicker than delivery near the holidays.
- Gift receipts and returns. Check that the shop offers gift receipts and a holiday returns period.
- Fake shops. Unknown sites offering sold-out toys at low prices are a common scam. See our scalper guide.
- Age ratings and safety marks. For toys, buy from reputable shops and check safety information.
- Similar-looking products. Viral toys are often copied. Check the brand and product name.
Using price-drop alerts for gifts
Big gifts like headphones, hair tools and large LEGO sets are often discounted in the run-up to Christmas. Set a price-drop alert with a target price on each, and you will hear when one is cheaper. If the gift is also likely to sell out, choose both stock and price alerts, which is the default.
Frequently asked questions
When should I start tracking? As soon as you know what you want. Advent calendars in particular sell for a short season.
How much does each alert cost? A flat one-off 拢5 per link, shown in your local currency. One-off fee. No subscription.
Can I track gifts at shops abroad? Yes, any store worldwide. Allow extra time for delivery.
Will you tell me when the gift sells out? We alert you when it comes back in stock or the price drops.
Can I set up alerts for several people's gifts? Yes. Each link is one alert, and they all go to your email and devices.
Keeping track of what you have bought
When you track lots of gifts, it is easy to lose track. Keep a simple list with the gift, the shops you are tracking and whether you have bought it. Once you buy, switch off the remaining alerts for that gift from your manage page, so you are not distracted by restocks you no longer need.
Summary
Start early, track several shops and keep notifications on. You will catch the restocks that matter, in time for the big day.
